Thanks for your interest in the implementation of Scotland’s new Health and Social Care Standards, which were published by the Scottish Government in June 2017. The new Health and Social Care Standards started to be used from April 2018.
The Health and Social Care Standards set out what we should expect when using health, social care or social work services in Scotland. They seek to provide better outcomes for everyone and to ensure that individuals are treated with respect and dignity and that the basic human rights we are all entitled to are upheld.
Audio from Roadshow Presentation:
The new standards are relevant across all health and social care provision. They are no longer just focused on regulated care settings but for use in health and social care, as well as in early learning and childcare, children’s services, social work and community justice.
CFS recently became aware of a telephone scam where someone pretending to be from "My Healthcare" contacted two patients. This caller seemed to know a lot about the patients and claimed they needed to send them medication. During the call, they asked for the patients' bank details and gave them a phone number that turned out to be fake. One of the patients did not provide any personal information, but the other unfortunately shared their banking details. We don't know if they suffered any financial loss as a result, but the patient reported the incident to their bank and the police in Scotland.
